Registrar Training

The practice has recently been involved in the training of doctors to become GPs. This process takes many years as a medical student and many more as a qualified doctor.

The practice provides an environment for such trainees to gain experience in general practice right through to becoming fully fledged independent GPs.

You may be offered an appointment with one of our ‘registrar‘ doctors, who typically have several years’ experience in hospitals, before they come to learn how it is done in general practice.

In order to help develop their skills further, you may be asked to complete a “patient satisfaction questionnaire”, or be videoed during the consultation. You will always be asked for consent beforehand and never be in view during examinations.

Each doctor-in-training will be closely supervised by our experienced trainer, Dr Kavita Rodrigues and also Dr Rita Kargbo and have a structured programme of development set down by The Royal College of General Practitioners.

If you ever have any constructive criticism we would be very happy to hear it.

As a training practice we feel privileged to have such a wealth of doctor talent coming into the practice from hospitals and believe it will only ever improved the service we offer.
