Child Health Checks

Health Visitors

You can normally see the Health Visitors at their drop-in clinic; for further information please contact the Practice, as these clinics require to be booked in advance with the nursing team.

Health Visitors are all trained Nurses who have extra training and qualifications in child health. They are a fantastic source of information about child development and health, parenting strategies, breastfeeding, nutrition and community support. They also offer help with social, emotional and environmental issues that affect families.

Child health checks

Baby checks with the GP and childhood immunisations with the practice nurse are by appointment.

The community health visitors provide breastfeeding support, baby massage groups and developmental checks as well as support for families of children under five years. The health visitor drop-in clinics are:-

  • Monday 10:00am – 12:00pm at Aylesbury College Campus Children’s Centre (behind Aylesbury College)
  • Monday 1:30pm – 3:00pm at Elmhurst Children’s Centre, Dunsham Lane
  • Wednesday 2:00pm – 3:30pm at the Health Living Centre, Ealton Court

To contact the health visitors please call 01296 566148

Immunisations are given by our Practice Nurses or other Healthcare Professionals in accordance with the NHS vaccine schedule.
